The Queen of Color
Jenny O’s passion for jewelry and thirst for knowledge qualifies her as the “Queen of Color”. She works hard to source the finest gemstones and best designers in the industry. With years of experience, Jenny O can tell the type and quality of a stone just by glancing at it. Jenny O knows the importance of quality, and wants nothing but the highest of it for any client who walks through our doors.
Born and raised in Las Vegas, Jenny O devoted herself to the jewelry business when she took a professional sales position with a well known jeweler at 19-years-old. Working with the diverse variety of clients from all over the world who visited the store in Las Vegas’ Fashion Show Mall, Jenny O discovered her natural affinity for connecting with customers and guiding them to the right piece of jewelry. In 2001, she moved to a sales position with a store in the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian. Here, she grew fascinated with diamonds, gemstones, and the concept of jewelry as art to be worn.
Jenny spent the next two and a half years studying at the Gemological Institute of America, headquartered in Carlsbad, California. Here, she developed a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the jewelry industry. Following graduation, she acquired a position on the supplier side of the industry in which she sold loose diamonds and branded lines of jewelry to retailers all over the United States. She developed strong relationships across the industry through this work and her active involvement in industry trade associations. While she loved this part of her career and learned a great deal from it, she realized her heart lies in retail.
Before becoming Huntington Jewelers’ new owner, Jenny O sharpened her skills at two of Las Vegas’ premier jewelry stores. From 2008-2013, she worked as a brand ambassador for a well-known jeweler in Las Vegas. Here she became a top sales professional and a Hearts on Fire Champion, thus ranking as one of the top sales associates in the world for that brand. During her years with this notable jeweler, Jenny O represented the company in the local community, earning her a nomination for the Women’s Jewelry Association Award for Excellence in Retail.
From 2013-2017, she worked as the store director and brand ambassador for another reputable Las Vegas jeweler. In these roles, she created and oversaw the production of many one-of-a-kind pieces. Jenny O is particularly grateful to her mentor for the chance to learn from his 40-plus years of experience and the management opportunities he provided.
In addition to her Gemological Institute certifications, Jenny O is an active member and officer of the Women’s Jewelry Association, an organization very dear to her. She regards the Women’s Jewelry Association as an essential element of her professional success.
In 2017, Jenny O’s dream of owning her own jewelry store became a reality as her and her husband Chris became the proud owners of Huntington Jewelers. They intend to build upon the success of the 70-year-old business while adding their own unique touch through Jenny O’s passion, sales skills, eclectic taste, and vast knowledge of the jewelry world.
